能楽や歌舞伎に必要な道具類のなかには、作り手の高齢化や経済性の問題で作れなくなっているものがあります。なにか方策を立てなければ、貴重な技術は失われていく一方です。

私はこれまで歌舞伎の裏方の現場を取材し、職人さんが抱えておられる問題について生の声をうかがってきました。そして、微力ではありますが問題解決のために支援活動を行っています。このページでは、これまで行ってきた研究や復元させた道具、そして進行中の調査などをご報告します。

I would like to explain my interest and progress in investigating stage tools, as well as how stage tool restoration can be carried out.
My investigations are linked to the techniques that are immediately useful to theatre staff and professional stage tool craftsmen and women.The most effective way to restore stage tools is to set up strong reliable relationships with professional technicians.
I’m going to try and restore one item per year, by collaborating with craftsmen and women who have the relevant skill sets for all the processes necessary to restore those stage tools.
